To New Years Resolution or Not...
First of all I have to share, this pictures were taken on a Family day at White Pass. It was our first official day in the snow for 2016 and the first day my youngest daughter got on skis! She did great...needless to say it was the perfect picture of a clean white slate...a fresh start if you will.
Speaking of a Fresh Start, I have been doing a lot of reflecting and thinking ahead over the last few months or so.
I am not a New Years resolution type of girl but I absolutely LOVE the feeling of a fresh start, clean slate and new beginning...can you relate?
Even though it doesn't take a New Year for a fresh start I do love to use this time to reflect on the year I had, ask myself some questions and evaluate so I can successfully create new goals, habits or disciplines that will ultimately keep me growing forward.
Some of the questions a I ask...
-Did I keep the main thing, the main thing? How?
-Who poured into my life and who sucked energy out of my life?
-What decisions did I make that helped me move forward?
-Which decisions held me back/moved me forward?
-Which habits helped me/held me back?
-Are there any habits that I need to adopt and or let go of in the New Year?
-What did I do to reach my goals?
-Which goals did I accomplish?
-What did God do in my life last year?
-What is God calling me to?
Just to name a few...
By taking the time to process, prayerfully consider and evaluate my top priorities in life I have seen more growth in the last 4 years then I ever have seen in my life!
I know that last year God pruned somethings I me in preparation for NEW growth and I am excited for it!
Isaiah 43:19 For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
I am excited and expecting for great things this year! I am grateful for the miracle of healing in my body, mind and soul this year! I am humbled by Gods mercy and grace! I am hungry for growth and all though many people make take this time to set goals with great intentions, I am choosing to set some goals and go after them with great intentionality everyday! No I am not perfect but I a know that God didn't give me a spirit of fear! 2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Thought there are many great goals I am working on this year, my main goal is to honor God and to make his name famous in all that I do.
I am committed to helping people to do more than lose weight, I want them to be inspired to live the life they've always dreamed of...to live the life that Jesus died for! To truly LIVE, THRIVE, and experience true FREEDOM instead of simply living to get through the day!
Today, this month, I encourage you to take the time to truly reflect and ask yourself some tough questions. Don't beat yourself up but lift yourself up! Draw near to God and ask him to reveal to you the dreams you once had. To give you new dreams, passions and FIRE! To give you the courage to pursue the things that scare you in a good way! To kick fear in the face with ACTION so you can experience ALL, not just some, of what he has for you❤
Last but not least...I would love to hear from you...what kind of Fresh Start are you looking for?
