Well hello there! I am back from my trip and ready to fill you in:)

My mini get away was full of lots of fun and lots of time with Jesus...yep you read that right. It's funny how being in a car for over 24 hours in 3 days gives you plenty of time to sing worship, pray and simply listen to what God has to say.

There were many deposits made into my soul this weekend but one I wanted to share this morning and this picture reminds me of it.

Yesterday was our last day in California. I woke up, put my makeup on and curled my hair for the first time in two days. Their other days I had my hair pulled back and I was rocking sweat pants😜

The weather app said this day was going to be the prettiest day of the trip, warm and full sun but as soon as we walked outside it was grey, rainy and my hair fell immediately! Anyone know what I'm talking about?

We finally pull up to the beach and I really wanted to see blue skies and take some pretty pictures but nope, still grey, hair a mess and because it was cold I ended up in a sweatshirt hoodie anyways.

Then just like all woman do, I stopped to take a selfie to remember the moment.(because I fear if I don't I may forget itπŸ˜‚) Sure enough, looking back at me in the reflection of my phone, was a hot mess!

I took countless shots just to get ONE picture that was SHARE worthy and when I finally got that one, I had to stop and laugh at myself.

How many times do we go out of our way to look perfect on the outside just to hide the hurt we have on the inside? Sometimes I don't even think we realize what we are doing. We want that perfect picture of life but we don't realize that there isn't a perfect picture of life to be found. Yes we have the perfect example to follow in Jesus but even he had to die in order to be raised again on the third day!

In this life we will have many troubles, many ups and downs and our picture perfect life may look anything but picture perfect. I have found that God is the only editing app that can take a hot mess and turn it into a powerful message!

Just like you see the untouched version of this picture and then the edited version that I would normally post on FB...I want you to realize that none of us are perfect. It's only through Gods grace and powerful photoshop (Mercy and forgiveness), our life's can be complete!

For those of you who have never been to the Redwood forest, here are a few pictures.

Now I would love to hear from you! Who are you? Did you read this entire blog post? If so, why? Did it speak to you in any way? In what ways did this post make total sense to you?

I look forward to reading your response and hearing from you soon.

Thank you for reading!
