Fall Fun at the Roloff Farms!
I recently read a post that said...
Not only is this list thought provoking but its absolutely true. All to often we allow ourselves to get busy just to wake up one day and realize that life is passing us by. I work with woman all the time who say they have lost themselves somewhere in the busyness of raising their kids. I believe this is because they don't think about themselves as a priority in life and they definitely aren't asking "What makes me happy?" Why is it that we feel that if we do the things that make us happy that we are somehow selfish?
About a year ago I asked my Team to sit down and write out a list of things that they want to do within their lifetime...I asked them to think about their hobbies, dreams and even those seemingly outrageous visions that they once had in their life. Today I am asking you to do the same! What are the hobbies, goals, dreams, visions and even those small "how cool would that be" type of things that you would love to do before you die?
Some of the things on your list may take a long to time achieve but if you are not 100% clear on what that goal is then how can you work to achieve it? Others maybe small and yet bring so much joy and peace to your life, yet again without taking the time to pinpoint exactly what they are, they can be overlooked and never accomplished.
I sat down and wrote a list of my own right before I asked my Team to do so. Since then I have been able to check quite a few things off of that list! Some of the items were small like taking time to soak in a bubble bath and read or taking more time to meet up with a friend for coffee or a hike, yet other items were a little bigger and require a lot of hard work and planning in order to achieve. However, this weekend, my family and I were able to mark off one of those "how cool would that be items" and I just had to share it with my Fit Family!
Do I have any Little People Big World fans out there? We started watching the show when it first came out and when we realized that we would be stationed in Washington I told my husband that I wanted to drive up to their Pumpkin Patch one Fall. This being our last Fall in the Pacific Northwest, it was time to mark it off of the list!
Seriously though, from a tour around the farm, panning for gold, finding the perfect Medina Fall Pumpkin, to racing tricycles with my kids, the day was perfect and totally worth the time, effort and income it took to make this goal go from "How cool would that be" to a "So glad we did that" item! It's clear to see that we had a blast! The Roloff Farm's proved to be the BEST PUMPKIN PATCH we have ever been to, which says a lot since we have visited Farms across the U.S!
My Family and I ended up staying for over five hours because there was so much to do and the kids didn't want to leave! The trip was WELL worth it! One of the things I found extra amazing was being able to see the family still hard at work on their farm, lovingly coming together to make sure that everyone who came had a great time. We had the opportunity to see the kids, their spouses, as well as both Matt and Amy Roloff. I loved that despite of what they are currently going through as a family, their love and passion for what they shines through it all.
So before I share a few more memories with you I just have to ask...when is the last time you wrote down you living goals or have you ever? If not, would you give it a try? Life is too short not to make it count and do the things that will make you happy. Now trust me, I know that God is my source of true strength and happiness but there will always be those events in life that make it sweet and it doesn't even have to cost you a thing. Maybe its as small as taking more time to soak in the tub and read a great book. Maybe its taking more time with the family and bringing back that family game night...what ever it is, if its important to you then I encourage you to write it out, make it clear and GO FOR IT!:)
Now would you mind sharing a goal below? Maybe its something like a trip you want to take, maybe its a health and fitness goal or maybe its just more time to slow down in life, what ever it is, I would love to hear it and connect with you.
Thanks for taking the time to read, hope you enjoy the rest of the pics.
