PERSONAL

I wanted to start off by saying my name is Lisa Medina but I figured since its the name of the website it would be a given. :)

A little about me - I am a military wife raising three beautiful girls and two crazy dogs! We currently live in North Carolina, our eleventh move in sixteen years of marriage.

My life began in North Carolina, daughter of two tobacco farmers, turned traveling gospel singers, mortuary service providers, and monument business owners. Even though I was raised right I lost my way, got pregnant at 16 and was a single mom at 17. Just when I thought all hope was lost God gave me the man he created just for me and at the tender age of 20 I married the most amazing Puerto Rican man in the world.

My husband Tony is also from the South, which means he is a perfect blend of island magic and Southern charm. Subsequently, this also means that our three daughters are a splendid combination of Southern Bell and Tropical Hurricane!  My life can best be described as organized chaos, or the girl saved by Grace, but I wouldn't change it for the world!

My life's mission is to share what God has done and is still doing in me to encourage others that nothing can separate you from the love of Jesus! If you surrender, he will lead the way and blow your mind! :)

FITNESS

My family and I are originally from the southeast, the Carolina's to be exact. Home of the words best BBQ, collard greens, and pecan pie! Unfortunately, I have been reminded throughout my life that the best can also be coupled with the worst, for my family that is diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and obesity. At a very young age I felt like I had to make a choice between what I love and what I need. That became especially evident throughout my three pregnancies.  It was extremely difficult for me to lose my baby weight, regain my confidence and build my self-esteem.  In the end, my choice was FUSION, blending what I need with all that I love.  That is what's so amazing about health and fitness, realizing that it is a journey full of ups and downs, not just a destination! One minute you feel like you can't even get out of bed the next you are hiking mountains in Hawaii. One day you have to pull up to a fast food restaurant because there just wasn't enough time and the next you are making fresh salsa in Mexico.  This is my life, these are my struggles, a FUSION of time management, amazing recipes, REAL LIFE!
